Website rebuild & migration
Area: Website & E-Commerce Development · Usual shape: migration + new build · The sensitive part: links and content
A rebuild is not a new design laid over old content. What decides whether it works is the part nobody sees: an audit of everything published, a redirect map for every old link, and a migration reviewed line by line. We design the new and protect what the old earned — because a site relaunched with broken links loses in a week what it collected over years.

What this solves
- Nobody in the building can edit the site.
- It works on a laptop and breaks on a phone.
- The platform it runs on is abandoned or unsupported.
- Pages accumulated over years until the structure stopped making sense.
What we build
- A full audit of the current content and every published URL.
- A decision per page: move, merge or retire — agreed before anything is built.
- A complete redirect map, so no old link ends at a missing page.
- A new structure and content architecture, rather than the old one re-skinned.
- New design and reusable templates.
- Content migration, reviewed rather than bulk-copied.
- Performance and accessibility correction as part of the move.
- A launch with a rollback plan, and link monitoring afterwards.
Where it is used
- A site nobody can edit without a developer.
- A site on an abandoned or unsupported platform.
- A site that does not work on phones.
- A new identity the current site cannot carry.
What this does not include
- We do not promise the recovery of a search position — nobody can.
- We cannot restore content that was never backed up.
- We do not resolve content or domain ownership disputes.
- Marketing after launch is outside this scope.
How the work goes
- We inventory what exists before we discuss what replaces it.
- We agree the per-page decisions and the redirect map in writing.
- We build the new structure in visible stages, with the migration reviewed as it goes.
- We launch with a way back, and watch the links for a period afterwards.

Questions about this service
Will we lose our search position?
That is the risk the redirect map exists to manage. We cannot promise a position — nobody honestly can — but we can prevent the loss that usually happens because old links were left pointing at nothing.
What happens to old links published elsewhere?
They are the reason for the URL audit. Every old address gets a decision and, where the page still has an equivalent, a redirect to it.
Do we move all the content, or select?
We select, together, and write the decision down per page. Most sites carry pages nobody has read in years, and moving them forward is how a rebuild recreates the original problem.
Can we launch in stages?
Sometimes. It depends on how the current site is structured. We will tell you whether staging the launch is genuinely possible rather than assuming it.
How much of our current site is reusable?
The audit answers that, and it is the first thing we do. Sometimes the content is good and only the structure is wrong; sometimes the reverse.
