Mobile Applications
An app is not a smaller copy of a website. It reaches people differently — a notification, a camera, a location, working with no signal — so it is designed afresh rather than shrunk. We build the apps your customers install, the apps your team works in out in the field, and we pick up apps someone else built and stopped updating.

What clients usually come to us with
- “Our customers keep asking for an app.”
- “Our field team writes everything on paper and types it up back at the office.”
- “We have an app and the developer who built it is gone.”
- “The app stopped working after a phone OS update.”
Choosing between them
- Customer app or team app?
- The first is published to stores and is judged by how easily someone who has never seen it can use it. The second is distributed internally and is judged by how fast a member of staff can finish a task they repeat fifty times a day. Different design, different requirements.
- New app, or continue the one we have?
- We do not answer that before seeing the code. The technical review settles whether the existing build is worth building on, and it is short compared with the cost of getting that decision wrong.
- An app, or a website that works on phones?
- If nobody needs notifications, a camera or offline use, a website is usually faster, cheaper and reaches everyone. We would rather say that than sell an app nobody installs.

Questions about this area
Do you build for both Android and iOS?
Yes. Whether that is one build serving both or two separate ones is decided on what the app actually needs, and written into the scope with its reason.
Who owns the store account?
You do. It is created in your company’s name and stays yours, even when we publish releases on your behalf.
Does an app need a server behind it?
Usually yes, even a simple one. If you do not have one, it is part of the scope from the start rather than a surprise line item later.
