Business & field-team apps

Area: Mobile Applications · Usual shape: field app + supervisor view · The user: your own team

Someone working in the field has no time, no signal and no large screen. The app that serves them is judged by the number of taps, not the number of features, and it has to work when the connection drops and sync when it returns. That is what we build: clear tasks, fast capture, and a sync that loses nothing.

What this solves

  • Work is written on paper in the field and typed up back at the office.
  • Nobody knows what has been completed until the end of the day.
  • There is no proof a delivery or a visit actually happened.
  • The connection drops and the whole process stops with it.

What we build

  • Task, visit and route screens built around one job at a time.
  • Capture with photos, signatures and scanning.
  • Offline-tolerant behaviour that syncs when the connection returns.
  • Accounts, roles and permissions by site or team.
  • A supervisor view showing current status rather than yesterday’s.
  • Sync with your system of record, so nothing is entered twice.
  • Internal or store distribution, as the case requires.
  • The field reports that are actually read.

Where it is used

  • Delivery and distribution teams.
  • Maintenance and inspection visits.
  • Sales representatives working away from a desk.
  • Stock counts across branches.

What this does not include

  • We do not build continuous staff tracking as a surveillance product.
  • We do not supply devices, trackers or vehicle hardware.
  • We do not do vehicle-telematics fleet management.
  • We do not advise on whether a given arrangement complies with any labour or privacy regime.

How the work goes

  • We watch how the work is done now, in the field, before designing a screen for it.
  • We agree what has to work with no signal, because that decides most of the architecture.
  • We build the capture path first and put it in real hands early.
  • We roll out to one team before all of them.

Questions about this service

Does it work without internet?

That is a core requirement rather than a feature. Work captured offline is held on the device and synced when the connection returns, and the sync is designed on the assumption that it will be interrupted.

Do we distribute through the stores or internally?

Either, and it depends on who the users are. Internal distribution avoids store review; store distribution is simpler to install. We decide it in scope.

Does it track staff locations?

Only where a task genuinely needs it — proving a delivery happened at an address, for instance. We do not build continuous tracking as a surveillance product, and we will say so if that is what is being asked for.

How does it connect to the system we already have?

Through whatever interface that system genuinely offers, which we check before promising anything. If it offers none, that becomes part of the scope rather than a surprise.

What happens if two staff record the same thing?

The rules for that are agreed up front, per record type. Conflict handling designed after launch is how field data quietly becomes untrustworthy.
